Privacy Policy
1. A legal disclaimer
This Privacy Policy explains how "Arrival" handles information when you use it on iPhone and supported Apple devices. Arrival is designed to work without an account. We do not require you to provide your name, email, phone number, or any profile details to use the core features. Most data used by Arrival stays on your device
2. Information the app uses
A) Location information
Arrival can use your location to provide its main function: tracking your trip progress and alerting you when you are near your chosen destination. Depending on the permissions you grant, the app may access location:
-
While the app is in use, and/or
-
In the background while a trip is actively being tracked so the arrival alert can work even if you lock your phone or switch apps
You can change or revoke location permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
B) Search and map usage (Apple MapKit)
When you search for places in Arrival, the app uses Apple’s MapKit services to provide suggestions and results. Your search text and related request details may be processed by Apple to return results. Apple’s handling of that data is governed by Apple’s policies, not ours.
C) Saved places and history
Arrival can store your recent start points and destinations locally on your device so you can quickly reuse them. This history is used only to show you your recent/frequent locations. You can clear this history inside the app or by deleting the app.
D) Notifications
Arrival uses notifications to deliver arrival alerts and related tracking messages. These alerts are generated by the app. We do not send advertising notifications.
Important: Notifications may appear on your Lock Screen, and anyone who can see your Lock Screen may see the alert content.
E) Live Activities / Dynamic Island
If you enable Live Activities, the app may display trip progress and destination-related information on the Lock Screen and/or Dynamic Island. This is visible to anyone who can view your device screen while it is active.
F) Purchases / subscriptions (if applicable)
If the app offers paid features, purchases are processed by Apple’s App Store. We do not receive your full payment information, such as your credit card number. Apple may provide us with non-sensitive purchase status, for example, whether you have an active subscription. So the app can unlock premium features.
3. What we do not collect
Arrival does not require an account and does not intentionally collect:
-
Your name, phone number, or personal profile information
-
Your precise location history on our servers (the app’s saved history is stored on your device)
-
Advertising identifiers for ad targeting (we do not run ads in the app)
4. How we use information
We use the information described above only to:
-
Provide navigation-related features (place search, maps)
-
Track your trip progress and trigger arrival alerts
-
Show and manage your saved places/history on your device
-
Provide optional Live Activity updates
-
Enable premium features if you purchase them
5. Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal data.
We may share limited information only in these cases:
-
With Apple MapKit, when you use search/maps to return results
-
With Apple / App Store for purchase processing and entitlement status
-
If required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and security
6. Data storage and retention
-
Saved place history is stored locally on your device until you clear it or remove the app.
-
Tracking-related location use is processed during active tracking. The app is not intended to upload your location history to our servers as part of normal operation.
7. Your choices and controls
You can control permissions and data at any time:
-
Location: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Arrival
-
Notifications: iOS Settings → Notifications → Arrival
-
Live Activities: iOS Settings → Face ID & Passcode (Lock Screen controls) and/or app settings depending on iOS version
-
Clear history: Available in-app (if provided), or by deleting the app
8. Children’s privacy
Arrival is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us by email, contact us and we will address it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect app changes or legal requirements. The “Effective date” will be updated when changes are published.
